rave on mic christopher

Mic died a handsome young rover, he left no debts and no anger, just a lot of great memories and beautiful songs and a friendship that will never diminish. He lived as a poet and died as one, and I will never fear death again because I know when it's my time, my friend will be waiting to show me around. We saw too much beauty to be cynical, felt too much joy to be dismissive, climbed too many mountains to be quitters, kissed too many girls to be deceivers, saw too many sunrises not to be believers, broke too many strings to be pros and gave too much love to be concerned where it goes....

Sad long time fan

I have been a fan since 1981.
I have been to every concert tour since War.
Except this one.
I count myself extremely lucky because of this.
U2 has touched my heart more than any other band, and has been a part of my life for 28 years.
I sit here listening to Achtung Baby in tears, because it is so beautiful and Bono is such an insightful poet, reminiscent of the Druid Bards who are his long past ancestors, and I wonder is some of that magic still living in his blood.
I know it is.
I am sad that as hard as I work, that I simply cannot afford to go.
To miss Bono, U2 my comfort in times most dire.
Sorry guys, this time the economy is too bad.

Writer's Block: I need my space ...

Do you tend to get turned off when someone you start dating seems too interested too soon? How do you politely tell someone to stop being so clingy?

Hey, so, are writer's blocks ever going to be about anything OTHER than the person you're dating/the person who's cheating on you/the person who you want but CANNOT HAVE?

Come on, now.

Glen Hansard, The Wiltern 11/19/2009

I don't have an completely unmatching video from last night to post today, because although they did perform Justin Timberlake's 'Cry Me a River'*, Glen begged everyone not to put it on YouTube and so far people are either lazy or following his instruction.

NEVER MIND. Here you can have last night's rendition! Score.

Not great quality. But whatevs. Not bad for no rehearsal (audience request).

But I'm leaving the older version behind the cut, because of the dance moves.

So Cry Me a River )

[*He also did 'The Man in Me' with Josh Ritter, and I died a little bit. In the good way. The end.]

Hello!
Can you tell me what sleigh bells Larry has used in I believe in father Christmas?
Thanks!

did I mention how I love you in your underwear?

Great Swell Season gig at the Wiltern last night. Actually, great doesn't start to cover it. So instead of writing a meaningful review, I'm going to give you the picture I took which most misrepresents the mood of any given moment during the show.

You can see Iz and I throughout, but at 5:06 when he's getting his standing ovation, we're the two rightmost figures in the front row.

I'm crossing my fingers for Elton John tonight.
